1. Does the sponsor get to pick the design?
Sponsors will be given the choice of artists designs from an approved roster of juried designs. Preference is given to sponsors who are the first to commit and secure a higher value sponsorship.
2. Can an individual/company select a specific artist to decorate?
Yes. However, all artist designs must be approved by the Artist Selection Committee. The committee reserves the right to disqualify any designs that are inconsistent with the purpose of the event.
3. Can a sponsor work collaboratively with an artist/fabricator?
Yes, with the artist's approval. We encourage collaborative designs and allow artists to work with the sponsor and fabricator directly if the artist approves. Any additional expenses and reimbursements outside of the Artist Agreement are to be negotiated directly between the artist, sponsor and/or fabricator.
Should an artist live off Oahu island and meets the criteria for the Approved Roster, he or she will be available for selection by a sponsor. Studio space in the "Gecko Studio" will be available in Honolulu only. If a gecko is to be decorated off Oahu island, arrangements must be made between the artist and sponsor. KHF provides no guarantee of work and assumes no responsibility for damage if a gecko is transferred off island.
